Welcome to Wild Sauna Voss
Located in the heart of Voss, right by Lake Vangsvatnet, our cosy little sauna features a panoramic window so you can enjoy beautiful lake views while you warm up and unwind. When you're ready to cool off, you can take a refreshing dip in the lake or use the cold outdoor shower located right outside the sauna.
Please note: Water access at this location is more limited compared to our Bakka, Gudvangen sauna. Wild Sauna Voss is not situated directly on a dock. To reach the lake, you’ll walk approximately 30 meters and carefully make your way down the rocks for a swim. If you’re not comfortable with this, we recommend heading to the public beach about 50 meters to the right, which provides easier access.
To make cooling off simpler, we have built a cold outdoor shower right outside the sauna. We are also planning to install a ladder for improved water access and a reflective window for enhanced privacy. Thank you for your patience while we complete these upgrades.
What to bring?
You need your bathing suite, drinking water and a towel to sit on.
How to get there?
The sauna is located behind Park Hotel in Voss, facing the lake (Vangsvatnet). Click this link to open directions in Google Maps.
How does it work?
Our sauna offers up to 8 drop-in spots per session. These are social sessions and may be shared with other bookings. If you prefer to have the sauna entirely to yourself, you can book a private session. The maximum capacity is 10 people.
You will receive an access code by text message and email. Use this code to unlock the door. We ensure the sauna is preheated before your arrival. Heating time is approximately 1–2 hours in summer and 2–2.5 hours in winter, so please plan ahead. If you are already at the location and notice that the sauna has recently been in use, it will still be warm — feel free to book immediately. If you are unsure, simply look through the panoramic window to check the thermometer.
The sauna includes a small changing room and an outdoor shower. Guests may also use the toilets on the first floor of Park Hotel; enter through the glass doors next to the sauna/car park. Please ensure you are dry and appropriately dressed before entering the hotel.
Our sauna operates with a simple and affordable self-service model. To help us maintain a great experience for everyone, please respect the sauna, hotel guests, locals, and visitors. Keep noise to a minimum and take any rubbish with you when leaving. If you have questions about the sauna, please contact us directly — not Park Hotel. Remember to leave the sauna clean and locked when you are finished.
