Outdoor Saunas With Incredible Views

Self-service saunas for rent by the hour. Choose between a fjord-view sauna in Bakka, Gudvangen (Nærøyfjord) and a lake-view sauna in Voss. Enjoy a unique sauna experience in two stunning locations in Western Norway.

It takes approximately 2 hours to preheat the sauna. Book in advance to make sure it is hot. However, the sauna is often already hot. If you are unsure, just send us an email.

Attention Visitors to Bakka

We are open but there is some work happening in front of the sauna and in the tunnel.

Parking in front of sauna is temporarily closed first week of June please park by the church. https://maps.app.goo.gl/WKJdhEmkHbuu2A6u7?g_st=ipc

The Bakka tunnel is closed one hour at a time between 0900-1700 you may pass through on the hour every hour. Work finish’s on 04th of June.

Wild Sauna Bakka, Gudvangen

This charming little barrel sauna is located in the peaceful village of Bakka, just outside Gudvangen and right on the Nærøyfjord. Here, you can enjoy spectacular fjord bathing directly from the dock and take in the breathtaking views.

The surrounding area is part of the UNESCO World Heritage landscape, and while nearby Gudvangen is a well-known tourist destination, Bakka remains a quiet hidden gem — close by, yet far from the hustle and bustle. The village is approximately 25 minutes from Flåm and 50 minutes from Voss.

Enhance your visit by combining your sauna session with one of the popular hikes in the area or a stop at the historic Bakka church.

Wild Sauna Voss

Brave the icy waters of Lake Vangsvatnet and enjoy stunning views of Gråsida through the panoramic window. The sauna is located in the center of Voss, just a short walk from the lake.

Ice bathing is possible, but water access is not directly in front of the sauna. If you prefer a dock to dive from and immediate access to the fjord, we recommend visiting our Bakka, Gudvangen sauna. From the Voss sauna, you can walk down to the rocks or to the public beach for swimming. Alternatively, use the outdoor shower right outside the sauna to cool off — perfect for those who want a refreshing dip without walking to the lake.

There are not many places where you can (or would want to) take an outdoor shower in below-freezing temperatures. Trust us — the experience is just as exhilarating as the view!

Wild Sauna Lærdal

The sauna is located by the beautiful Lærdalsfjord, a branch of the world-famous Sognefjord. The water is turquoise, and the mountains are majestic. Enjoy a sceneic drive over Aurlandsfjellet and come down to a relaxing sauna session by the fjords.

The sauna is located by a lovely little private boat dock. Its a perfect spot for a romantic evening or some solo time. The fjord is absolutely incredible for swimming! There is also free camping for vans and campers in the surrounding area. Lærdal the local village is a lovely place for a historic walk through the old town.

    Vossflow

    Water sports centre located on Voss Lake (Vangsvatnet), offering SUP and kayak rentals as well as guided tours in the area. Enjoy a day of watersports and warm up with a sauna afterwards. Vossflow is located just 50m from Wild Sauna Voss.
